Ready to order, hon?

The hashbrowns are extra-good today!

In 2021, armed with a homemade mask of my original character Shannon (a waitress, who is also a Sasquatch and a single mom), I set out to transform myself into a middle-aged forest-dwelling matron of the Pacific Northwest.

Follow the Instructable link above for detailed step-by-step instructions on how the costume was created, or just enjoy the pictures below!

The main components for the ensemble were a fat suit, a pink satin dress from the thrift store, and a teal polo shirt from the women’s plus-size collection. I made my foundation garments by gluing faux fur to the arms and legs of some old clothing. Painted gloves gave me hands and feet that matched the skin tone of the mask, and I made both the neckerchief and apron from a thrifted tablecloth. The Guest Check pad is plywood, and the nametag is a wooden paint stirrer from the hardware store!

Quite a journey.

I loved every bit of this costume! We started in August, and I created Shannon at the same time we were making Bill’s costume. That whole process was documented here.
